Height: 5'10"
Build Type: hourglass
Brief Description:
Marie has red, somewhat curly hair. She has light blue eyes that are constantly looking around, taking things in so she can paint them later. She usually wears light colors and somewhat muted tones, liking things more simplistic than fancy. She is tall, with a thin build and long fingers. She always has some kind of necklace on, usually one she made herself.
Background:
Mortal Parent(s):Gracie Roy
Other Family: None
Pets: A baby dragon
Brief History:
She was born in New York, New York. Her mother took care of her most her life, and never answered Marie's repetitive questions about her father, although she knew full and well who her daughter's father was. She lived pretty fine, with her mother and dog in a small apartment. As a child, she showed no signs of powers, and was very much socially accepted. She wasn't popular, but still had plenty friends.
Around the age of eight, her mother developed cancer. Pulled out of school, Marie began to fiddle with things whenever her mother was at the hospital. She would take apart remotes, phones, and sometimes even microwaves. Her mother looked upon this as simple curiosity, and that it had nothing to do with her father. By now, Marie still didn't know about her father, and that she had powers.
Fast forward three years. Now she is 13, and her mother has been mostly cured of her cancer. She has returned to school, and is with her friends again. She has began taking metal shop lessons, working on sculptures at a nearby art studio. Her mother is proud of her daughter's metalwork skills, but has also began to suspect something. She didn't stop Marie, though. She didn't want her to be sad.
Later that year, she was walking home, when she passed by a small alleyway. She saw a cat run in and, excited, she began to chase it. She followed it until it outran her, leaving her utterly lost in the city. However, she began to attempt to retrace her steps, going backwards. However, she was approached by a man. He was carrying a metal pipe, and seemed rather menacing. Marie took off, running. The man chased her, until she was cornered. She collapsed against the wall, watching the man approach her. She prayed to whatever god there was, begging to be saved. When nothing happened, she looked at the man, who was now raising his metal rod. She closed her eyes, and then heard a scream. The man dropped the rod, which was now red, and held his hand. Somehow, that rod had gotten hot.
Afraid for her life, she grabbed the rod without thinking. Neglecting the fact that it was still red with heat, she hit the man several times before dropping the rod and taking off.
Afterwards, she realized what had happened and told her mom what happened. In a moment of weakness, her mother told her everything, even about Camp Half Blood. Marie was not mad, in fact she felt exactly the opposite. She was overjoyed that she was the daughter of the God of the Forge. She told her mom about how it all made sense, and even about her love for metal. Her mother, who already knew this, was pleased that her daughter was not mad.
For two years, she visited Camp Half Blood in peace. However, when she was gone at the end of the second year, the camp was overthrown and taken over. When she returned, she did what she could do best. She hid. And now, she has decided to rise against the evil ones (as she calls them) and restore peace to Camp Half Blood.
Personality:
Likes:
- Dragons: she loves how they breathe fire, perfect for smelting things or cooking marshmallows.
- Making Weapons: she likes creating unique weapons for everyone, no matter how hard the task may be. She will never turn down a request, and usually doesn't ask for any form of payment.
- Reading: Wether fiction or car manuals, she almost always has her hands on a book. If she doesn't have a book, she's usually creating things in the workshop.
- Practicing her Fighting: She dreams of making it big someday, of becoming as famous as the people she's heard of, and to do so, she makes weapons day after day, because she believes that to properly operate the weapon, you must also know it, inside and out.
- Running: Just one of the many things she does to keep athletic. She does so because she thinks that if there is ever a battle, she wants to be ready for it.
Dislikes:
- Bugs: They disgust her, simple as that. She thinks that if something were put on the earth, it would have a purpose other than to skitter around in the shadows.
- Cold places: She thinks that it should always be warm, one of the reasons that she dislikes the winter so much. She will usually be found with some hot coffee or a hot piece of metal, working away.
- Jerks: Her belief is that everyone should be treated equal. If someone has a beef with someone, then they should deal with it maturely, not through violence.
- Hades: Her thoughts on him remain mostly concealed, but if the topic ever switches to him, she usually tries to change it, and sometimes not even she knows why she dislikes him so much.
- Agression: If she ever feels the need to be aggressive, she usually goes to the forge, where she takes out her anger on creating new things. She laughs about this sometimes, saying that it's funny how she dislikes aggression when she makes the tools for inciting it.
Skills:
- Weapon making: She always had a knack for making things, but never as much as she had for working with metal and weapons. SHe seeks a challenge in making things, no matter how hard it seems.
- Debate: She always has a reason for or against something, no matter how trivial the argument. Want to eat cake for dessert? She wants to stand up for brownie rights.
- Working with Technology: She is constantly taking apart and putting together machines, trying to find out just how they work.
- Keeping the Peace: Although she enjoys a good argument now and then, she also likes some peace and quiet from time to time. Even though she is always in the forge where things are constantly loud, she can still get headaches.
- Slipping Below the Radar: With the takeover of the recent baddies, Marie has found herself convincing others that she was part of it, in order to discreetly hand out weapons, but not many at a time.
Weaknesses:
- Insecure: She has mood swings, usually between happy and aggressive. No one, not even herself, knows why.
- Afraid: She doesn't know what will happen next, so usually all her plans are poorly formed, and usually consist of her improvising to stay alive.
- Slacker: She usually puts things off until the last second, making her seem much worse than she is. Her heart is in the right place, but her mind isn't
- Trust Issues: She sometimes has problems trusting people, for reasons that sometimes don't even make sense.
- Defenseless: Although she is an expert with making weapons, she usually never carries one around with her, usually resulting in desperate hand-to-hand combat.
Passions:
- Weaponmaking: She lets little get between her and the forge. She takes everything there; her likes, her dislikes, her love, her hate, but most importantly, her passion.
- Saving Camp Half Blood: She will let little to nothing get in her way in saving the camp, even if it means working behind enemy lines.
Fears:
- Heights: She simply is afraid of heights, most of her nightmares usually have to do with it.
- Death: She sees it everywhere; on the news, in books, and sometimes in her camp. This is one of the many reasons she makes weapons, to stop the death of those she cares about, and most importantly, herself.
Hobbies:
- Metalworking: she usually always has a couple bolts and screws on her, even if they have no use. She always fiddles with machines and gadgets, in order to evolve her knowledge on technology and metal in general.
- Caring for Magic Creatures: No matter the shape or size, she always likes to look for and care after them, even if they try to hurt her.
Fighting Specialty: Blunt objects (like mallets, maces, etc.)
Describe the extent of your powers/abilities:
Ability to manipulate fire: She can not create fire. However, she can grow and weaken a flame. She lacks the power to make it go out, or create a blazing inferno, but she can create fires hot enough to smith weapons. She is still new to this power, so she can only do so much before she god exhausted. In special cases, as seen in her history, she can make metal heat itself, but since it has only happened once, it is very hard to do, and she doesn't plan on doing it again any time soon.
Fatal Flaw:
too sympathetic for her own good.

Theme Song: Famous Last Words
Lyrics
Now I know that I can't make you stay
But where's your heart?
But where's your heart?
But where's your?
And I know there's nothing I could say
To change that part
To change that part
To change
So many bright lights to cast a shadow, but can I speak?
Well, is it hard understanding I'm incomplete?
A life that's so demanding, I get so weak
A love that's so demanding, I can't speak
I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you could say can stop me going home
Can you see my eyes are shining bright
?Cause I'm out here on the other side
Of a jet black hotel mirror and I'm so weak
Is it hard understanding I'm incomplete?
A love that's so demanding I get weak
I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you could say can stop me going home
I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you could say can stop me going home
These bright lights have always blinded me
These bright lights have always blinded me
I say
I see you lying next to me
With words I thought I'd never speak
Awake and unafraid
Asleep or dead
(How can I see, I see you lying)
'Cause I see you lying next to me
(How can I see, I see you lying)
With words I thought I'd never speak
(How can I see, I see you lying)
Awake and unafraid
(How can I see, I see you lying)
Asleep or dead!
'Cause I see you lying next to me
With words I thought I'd never speak
Awake and unafraid
Asleep or dead!
'Cause I see you lying next to me
With words I thought I'd never speak
Awake and unafraid
Asleep or dead!
I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
(Or dead!)
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home
(Or dead!)
I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
(Or dead!)
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home
(Or dead!)
I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
(Or dead!)
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home

Role Playing Sample:
Prepared for a battle, Marie prepares her mallet. She washes it under some cool water before polishing it to the point of reflection. Fixing her hair, she stands up. Her armor clinks against itself as she takes a step. She usually wears no armor, but this is a special occasion, which calls for special measurements. She admires herself once mroe in the large silver mallet before heading to the door. She listens carefully. Silence. Opening the door, she steps outside carefully. No one is there, and so she heads for the forge.
Outside the forge, a person stands guard. Just what she was waiting for. Ducking behind a cabin, she sneaks toward the back of the forge. Four feet... three feet... two feet... abort! abort! Marie takes off. Someone saw her. Running fast, she holds her mallet to her chest, the cold metal pressing against her cheek. c'mon, sanctuary, sanctuary! She is almost back. She sprints, taking large strides. Mentally, she reminds herself never to try to sneak into the forge alone, especially when there are extra guards She reaches the cabin door and frantically pulls it open, turning around and slamming the door behind her. She tears off her armor, throwing it beneath her bed. She places her mallet under a hallow floorboard, and gets in bed, all in almost seconds.
Footsteps outside. She hears them, but barely over the sound of her beating heart. She definitely needs to do something about those night watchers. She silently takes her necklace in her hand. It's in the shape of a small flame, and it contains a piece of coal almost smaller than a speck of dust, as well as steel and flint. Clutching it, she murmurs some silent words of thanks to the gods before closing her eyes, and drifting off to the abyss of sleep.
