CALHOUN, lilith isadoraDEMIGOD4th Year at CampAge: 19 Daughter of HecateAlliance: Neutral
Appearance:
Eye(s): Crystal blue Hair: Dark brown, almost black Height: 5'7" Build Type: Slender, curvy Brief Description: Drop dead gorgeous. Many consider her to a daughter of Aphrodite based on her looks. She's busty, got curves in all the right places, and has a slender body. Lilith also has a tattoo on her back, and several others along her body. It's not surprising that she uses her good looks to get what she wants. She's never seen without her cherrywood wand, which is capable of growing into a large staff when she wills it to. Also, she usually wears her silver snake bracelet, which is able to shift into a Stygian Iron rapier when she wants it to.
Background:
Mortal Parent: Brando James Calhoun Other Family: Children of Hecate Pets: Luger - Doberman Pinscher Brief History: Lilith's father was a dog handler. Somehow, his personality and occupation must have drawn the attention of the Goddess of Magic. When Lilith showed up in a blanket on her father's doorstep with a note detailing her origins and instructions on raising her, he cracked under the pressure and instead placed her in an orphanage. She spent her time growing up in the orphanages which bounced her around from home to home. It made her a realist, and taught that the only person she could rely on was herself. There was no one else in the world whom she would come to trust. It was during one of her "visits", as she liked to call them, that she found out about Pagan witchcraft. She took an instant liking to the mystical arts, but was surprised that when she actually recited stuff out of a book that things began to happen. It was through these experiments that she accidentally caught her house on fire, and caused one of her annoying adoptive siblings to get hit with a serious case of boils that erupted on his skin.
With all the weird occurrences going on around her, and the unlocking of her abilities at the young age of ten, her demigod scent became stronger and stronger. After another round of being bounced around in orphanages, she was visited by the immortal sorceress Circe, and was brought to her island in the Sea of Monsters. There she was tutored even further in magic, and taught about the world of the Gods. Other demigods living with her possessed talent in magic, but even by most standards, Lilith held massive latent potential. In her later years, she became one of the leading enchantresses on Circe's Island. However, she trusted no one, and once she realized that Circe may have been using Lilith all along, she fled when a hero arrived on the island and unleashed all of the island's prisoners.
At the age of fifteen, she was picked up in New York by a satyr after she attracted the attention of a few Lastrygonian giants. Of course, she was trying to steal their hair for a potion she was trying to create. Once she was back at the camp, she kept her history a secret, burying it beneath her seductive and sly persona. It wasn't long before she was claimed by her mother, and from there Lilith tried to blend into the shadows so she could continue dabbling in dark magic without unneeded attention. along with growing her magical prowess, she also began to learn how to use a rapier and has become quite gifted with the blade. Working her way to heart of the camp, she only allies herself with whatever side is best going to benefit her. In search of more power, no one had better get in this witch's path.
Personality:
A creature of the night, Lilith is sly, manipulative, seductive, and extremely cunning. Living in orphanages for the earlier part of her life, she learned that she can rely on no one but herself. Sure, she might ask for help, but she only does it so that her own hands don't get too dirty. This girl likes to keep her image as a dangerous demigod, and will do anything to keep people from believing she has gone soft. There are moments she might share some kindness, but those moments are few and far between. The only things she likes to protect are the assets that might help her in the future, and the only other creature she has affection for is her canine familiar. Normally, she is sickly sweet to all those she comes into contact with, but can be quite venomous when threatened or someone opposes her view. It's not uncommon for her to hex or curse someone because they crossed her.
Likes:
- Magic - There's nothing more to say.
- Potions - Her magical prowess extends to creating all kinds of mysterious and enchanted concoctions. Love potions, potions that heal warts, potions that will turn you into an animal, Lilith can do it all!
- Power - Lilith feels both protected and in control when she is in power. That doesn't exactly mean leading the group, but just so long as she's pulling the strings, she feels as though everything is going according to her plans.
- Trouble - She loves to create chaos and mayhem. Causing couples to break up, framing other campers for crimes they didn't commit, pulling sinister pranks, Lilith loves to do it all. It makes her feel empowered and secure that her manipulation abilities are as sharp as always.
- Teasing - Lilith is a big flirt and seductress. It doesn't matter if you're taken or not. She likes a challenge, and finds modest and shy people to be amusing. Coupled with her gorgeous appearance, it's not surprising most assume she's a daughter of Aphrodite.
- Night - The still of the night helps Lilith with clearing her mind and focusing her magic. Not only that, but the full moon enhances her magic and helps her perform better.
Dislikes:
- Not Being in Control - Lilith is controlling. If things aren't going her way, then she'll usually turn into the wicked with until everything is going according to her plans.
- Opposition - Nothing annoys Lilith more than when someone directly opposes her. Cross her path, and she's not the nicest girl around. She'll usually hex you so that your face breaks out in pimples or curses your cabin. One minute she can be the reclusive seductress, the next she's the wicked viper.
- Weaklings - Lilith knows she's not the strongest person around. But she makes up for it with her magic and fencing. So when there's an incompetent fighter around, she would much rather just knock them over to get them out of her way.
- Illusions - Since Lilith knows how to utilize actually magic, she finds stage magic to be quite annoying. If she sees some magician pull a rabbit out of a hat, she'll usually turn the rabbit into a snake or something just because.
Skills:
- Magic - C'mon. Daughter of Hecate and former student of Circe? Of course she focuses primarily on sorcery and all accompanying subjects. She's one of the most powerful sorceresses ever to be a student at camp. Careful, she might turn you to a toad if you give her the wrong look.
- Potions - It's common knowledge in camp that, for the right price, Lilith will create a potion for whatever it is you need. Got a pesky boyfriend? She'll give you a potion that makes him too tired to even think! Or maybe you have a nasty rash after someone wiped centaur blood in your pants. She's got a remedy for it!
- Poisons - Lilith is underhanded and sneaky, plus Circe taught her a bunch of stuff. So of course she can concoct nasty poisons, and will usually slap some on her rapier and her athame to have that extra edge.
- Fencing - Give her a longsword, she won't be able to handle it. A bow? Not happening. But a rapier? Heck yes! This girl has some mad fencing skills, allowing for her to use her speed and acrobatics to her full advantage. Careful, though, she might have slathered some poison on the tip of her blade.
- Tracking - Her mother's the goddess of crossroads, and also a minor goddess of the hunt, so Lilith is pretty good at picking up a trail when she's tracking something or someone down.
Weaknesses:
- Unpredictable - Because of her constant plotting and planning, not many know what goes on in her head. Sometimes she will randomly disappear or unexpectedly do something particularly wild (all to become more powerful).
- Merciless - You're on the ground, wounded and bleeding, begging Lilith to spare your life. Guess what she does? Slits your throat. There is no sympathy or mercy lurking in this cold-hearted sorceress.
- Selfish - Guess what? Lilith doesn't care about anyone but herself. So long as she's okay, everything is right in the world. If a fellow sibling or another camper were dying beside her, it wouldn't be that surprising if she just turned away or even ended their misery.
- Secretive - No one knows what Lilith is up to. She practices her magic alone, especially the darker arts, and keeps her personal thoughts to herself. She's a mystery at camp, but a sexy one, so not many ask questions other than if she's available or not.
- Physical Combat - Lilith relies heavily on her magic and poisons, so when she is stripped of either of them, she can only hold out for so long. While gifted with her rapier, she isn't physically strong, so she must rely on her agility and acrobatics to land damaging strikes, and it's easy for her to be overwhelmed my a powerful or skilled opponent.
Passions:
- Magic - Lilith is going to be the most powerful sorceress ever. That's what she thinks, anyway. Magic runs in her veins, its what she lives for, and the only thing she can rely on. Learning new spells, enchantments, curses, etc. are the highest thing on her agenda.
- Immortality - The main mission in her life. She doesn't care how she achieves becoming ageless, Lilith just never wants to die.
Fears:
- Being Powerless - Without power, Lilith would feel naked and exposed. That's why she's always becoming stronger and stronger, so nothing can threaten and she'll one day even be a match for the Gods.
- Death - It's what pushes her to the be the strongest. If she's powerful and no one stands in her way, then no one can compete with her and threaten her life.
Hobbies:
- Sorcery/Magic - As a Daughter of Hecate, it's almost mandatory. But since she found her magical talent at such a young age, it's become second-nature for her to practice magic, especially the darker spells, which are almost always the most powerful. If she's not trying to enchant an item, then she's usually creating some type of magical concoction that will turn a person into a goat.
- Poisons - Muahahaha! After Lilith was introduced to Circe, she began to study poisons and toxins and all that sinister stuff. She's usually able to whip up a poison for just about anything you need... for the right price that is.
- Fencing - She picked it up at one of the private schools she went to when she was being bounced around in the adoption system, but didn't really expand on her ability until she came to Camp Half Blood. She's a pretty good fencer, using her agility, reflexes, and acrobatics to land blows on her opponents.
- Manipulation - To prove to herself that she's powerful enough to influence others, Lilith will manipulate people and usually cause trouble from behind the scenes. If that means breaking people up, she'll do it. Of course, she also manipulates people to get what she wants.
Fighting Specialty: Magic! Lilith is superbly gifted with incantations, spells, enchantments, charms, sorcery, and all related magical subjects. She often employs her magic in battle, but is just as formidable with her staff or rapier. Her dagger is mostly used for ceremonial purposes, but it is usually dipped in poison so that she can make use of it in battle. Her canine familiar Luger often accompanies her in battle to help take down any enemies that get close to her.
Describe the extent of your powers/abilities: Being the daughter of Hecate, Lilith has a plethora of connecting abilities. Her first and foremost ability which she often taps into is the ability to perform magic. After being trained by the immortal sorceress Circe, her abilities have become formidable. She is able to focus and amplify her magic through her wand and staff (same thing, it's just able to switch back and forth for battle). Due to her mother also having some power over the moon, Lilith's magical prowess becomes drastically amplified under the full moon, but extremely weak during a new moon. Her second ability allows her to communicate and summon spirits of the dead, though she is not capable of manipulating them to do her bidding. Her last ability is a powerful sense of direction. Sometimes referred to as "pathfinding", she is capable of finding the right direction as long as she is focusing on what she wants.
Fatal Flaw: Thirst for Power
Please give a brief background on your minor god: (snatching this from theoi.com) HEKATE (or Hecate) was the goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts and necromancy. She was the only child of the Titanes Perses and Asteria from whom she received her power over heaven, earth, and sea.
Hekate assisted Demeter in her search for Persephone, guiding her through the night with flaming torches. After the mother-daughter reunion became she Persephone's minister and companion in Haides.
Two metamorphosis myths describe the origins of her animal familiars: the black she-dog and the polecat (a mustelid house pet kept to hunt vermin). The bitch was originally the Trojan Queen Hekabe, who leapt into the sea after the fall of Troy and was transformed by the goddess into her familiar. The polecat was originally the witch Gale who was transformed into the beast to punish her for her incontinence. Other say it was Galinthias, the nurse of Alkmene, transformed by the angry Eileithyia, but received by Hekate as her animal.
Hekate was usually depicted in Greek vase painting as a woman holding twin torches. Sometimes she was dressed in a knee-length maiden's skirt and hunting boots, much like Artemis. In statuary Hekate was often depicted in triple form as a goddess of crossroads.
Hekate was identified with a number of other goddesses, including Artemis and Selene (Moon), the Arkadian Despoine, the sea-goddess Krataeis, the goddess of the Taurian Khersonese (of Skythia), the Kolkhian Perseis, and Argive Iphigeneia, the Thracian goddesses Bendis and Kotys, Euboian Maira (the dog-star), Eleusinian Daeira and the Boiotian Nymphe Herkyna. Theme Song: Livin' La Vida Loca - Ricky Martin She's into superstitions black cats and voodoo dolls. I feel a premonition that girl's gonna make me fall. She's into new sensations new kicks in the candle light. She's got a new addiction for every day and night.
She'll make you take your clothes off and go dancing in the rain. She'll make you live her crazy life but she'll take away your pain like a bullet to your brain. Come On!
[CHORUS:] Upside, inside out she's livin la vida loca She'll push and pull you down, livin la vida loca Her lips are devil red and her skin's the color mocha She will wear you out livin la vida loca Come On! Livin la vida loca, Come on! She's livin la vida loca.
Woke up in New York City in a funky cheap hotel She took my heart and she took my money she must've slipped me a sleeping pill She never drinks the water and makes you order French Champagne Once you've had a taste of her you'll never be the same Yeah, she'll make you go insane.
[CHORUS]
She'll make you take your clothes off and go dancing in the rain. She'll make you live her crazy life but she'll take away your pain like a bullet to your brain. Come On!
[CHORUS]
