DEMIGOD
#2nd Year at Camp
Age: 75, appears 17
Daughter of Apollo ;; Huntress of Artemis
Alliance: Resistance
Appearance:
Eye(s): Ice blue
Hair: Black
Height: 5'4"
Build Type: Wiry and athletic
Brief Description:
Naida is literally forever seventeen, due to her oath as a loyal huntress of Artemis, and retains much of her soft face. Though she will always appear young, she remains determined to carry an air that causes her to look commanding. She is a petite, deceptively strong woman with a wiry frame of muscle that only really shows when she is in action. Although her frame is petite, Naida generally moves with natural grace and fluid movements that cause her to look taller than she actually is. The Huntress hardly ever cracks a smile and tends to appear quite cold at the first glance, even more so with her hard cat-like ice blue eyes.
In the rare moments that one can get a smile out of the maiden, her face glows like the sun her father guides across the sky. Naida's normally ice blue eyes soften to the colour of a clear sky, and she radiates easy warmth inherited from her mistress' twin.
Background:
Mortal Parent(s): Elisabeta Valerious (Mother, deceased)
Other Family: N/A
Pets: A female wolf named Maysa
Brief History:
Just as all tales of a mortal falling in love with a god start, as did the tale of the vibrant Romanian-American Elisabeta and the warm god Apollo. He stayed with her mother for quite some time after the birth of their child in the 1930s, making sure that the two would be just fine before he returned to Olympus. Nadezhda Valerious, otherwise known as Naida, retained only the faintest memories of her easygoing father as he left when she was two. Her mother later found another man to replace her father though Naida never felt the warmth that she had felt from her immortal parent. Nonetheless, she grew up to be as equally vibrant as both her mother and biological father.
Naida was quite the social butterfly growing up even though she suffered from a short attention span and acute dyslexia. She enjoyed being eccentric to keep the dower times cheerful no matter the situation. All throughout her life, her mother would wake her up at the crack of dawn to sit on the roof of their home to watch the sunrise and feel the warmth that it provided. Looking back on it now, Naida realizes that her mom was still deeply in love with her father and was most likely trying to look for him or just take pleasure in his work. However, her vibrant spirit was crushed when her mortal parent was killed in an automobile accident when she was sixteen and her stepfather took it upon himself to treat the young girl as he saw fit. Naida had trusted her stepfather completely until the moment he decided he was going to break that trust by abusing her. Before he could worsen the situation further, the demigod fled only to be attacked by various monsters.
A young satyr found Naida and explained things to the young teen, though it took time to get her to trust him at all. After her father's abandonment and her stepfather's abuse of her trust, the girl was slowly becoming jaded towards both trust and men. Nonetheless, the satyr led Naida to Camp Half-Blood where she joined the cabin of Hermes to begin with as she didn't know whom her father really was. It didn't take long for her father to place claim to the demigod and she relocated to the cabin of Apollo.
During her year at the camp, the daughter of Apollo discovered many things about herself. These things included the fact that she was a very good healer, she highly enjoyed archery, and she could find solace in the company of half siblings. Naida allowed herself to get close to a son of Aphrodite and developed a crush on him. He made her feel loved and wanted, and she was just about to admit that she loved him when she caught him with another girl. The cynical part of her rose up, telling her that it was just typical. Hurt by what happened, Naida returned to her cabin and only emerged for food.
Soon after that, the Huntresses arrived at camp and one caught Naida watching them. The girl took the hurting teen under her wing and convinced her to join them to be apart of something wondrous. Naida left the cabin of Apollo to join the hunt with the Huntresses, taking the oath with pride.
Many years passed without too much incident, and Naida found herself complete in the company of the Huntresses of Artemis. She enjoyed aiding the other girls when they required it, and was a good leader for the times they split up. Since the time she took her oath, Naida has matured into the woman she is now with a deep hatred for the male race in general and the need to do as her goddess wishes.
Personality:
Once a happy-go-lucky girl with a short attention span, Naida is a mistrusting huntress with a down right cold attitude. Mainly she tends to appear emotionally detached from the world, causing her seem uncaring and cynical. Though highly mistrusting of people, she either cannot or simply will not lie to anyone no matter the situation she is placed in. It is due to this that she tends to be quite blunt with everyone no matter how much their feelings are hurt in the process. Stubborn to a fault, she never backs down when she believes that she is right and takes pleasure in frustrating her verbal combatant.
Contrary to the way Naida acts; she does still contain a light-hearted spirit though it carries heavy damage. She tends to allow this portion of herself come out around other huntresses and other girls she believes she can trust. When Naida actually likes someone, she uses hidden, playful sarcasm around them and almost unnoticeable jokes while still keeping her outward cold appearance. She tends to act on more maternal feelings at times by protecting and taking care of the other huntresses as well as other women she comes across in need of help. Despite her cold outlook on the world, Naida is still able to provide advice to other women on various topics, excluding the subject of the male race.

Describe the extent of your powers/abilities:
As a daughter of Apollo, Naida is an excellent healer and is usually able to recognize what is causing another pain. Her own body heals at an extremely fast pace compared to others, something that is done subconsciously. Over time she has perfected the art of using small bits of her power for charms and curses, though she prefers the former over the latter. As both a daughter of Apollo and a huntress of Artemis she excels at archery, finding it to be second nature compared to any other fighting form. More often than not, Naida hits a target dead on no matter if it is stationary or moving. Although she is an archer through and through, Naida can use her dual hunting knives to defend herself and has medium level skill in throwing them.
Fatal Flaw:
Due to her highly mistrusting nature, Naida finds it difficult to work with others outside of the huntresses causing difficulties to arise in the rare times that they must.
Theme Song: In the Shadows – The Rasmus
No sleep
No sleep until I am done with finding the answer
Won't stop
Won't stop before I find a cure for this cancer
Sometimes
I feel I going down and so disconnected
Somehow
I know that I am haunted to be wanted
I've been watching
I've been waiting
In the shadows all my time
I've been searching
I've been living
For tomorrows all my life
In the shadows
In the shadows
They say
That i must learn to kill before i can feel safe
But I
I rather kill myself then turn into their slave
Sometimes
I feel that I should go and play with the thunder
Somehow
I just don't wanna stay and wait for a wonder
I've been watching
I've been waiting
In the shadows all my time
I've been searching
I've been living
For tomorrows all my life
Lately I been walking walking in circles, watching waiting for something
Feel me touch me heal me, come take me higher
I've been watching
I've been waiting
In the shadows all my time
I've been searching
I've been living
For tomorrows all my life
I've been watching
I've been waiting
I've been searching
I've been living for tomorrows
In the shadows
In the shadows
I've been waiting

Although many of the senior X-Men were returning at a trickle, one in particular was literally dragging himself to go back. The ever so familiar roar of a motorcycle sounded as this particular mutant rode up to the gates of the Institute. As always, the gates opened on their own with a push of a button from the returning X-Man. He drove slowly up the long driveway, glancing at the lawns near the school. His eyes were covered with ruby red sunglasses but didn't impair his vision in the slightest.
Instead, the man known as Scott Summers kept his face blank as he watched various mutants of all ages play with their gifts in a safe haven. Not many of the younger ones were familiar to him as some of them had changed and others had just recently come. He tore his ruby gaze away from the sight to drive into the garage where he parked in his normal spot. Apparently no one had taken it, maybe even by Ororo's request.
His shoulders stooped for a moment before he straightened to unhook his duffle from around both of his shoulders. Scott slid it onto one shoulder only rather than a backpack as he thought in silence. Ororo, the other X-Man that the Professor had chosen over him. Now that he had time to think and time to be truly away from everything, she did seem like the ideal choice. Perhaps he was a bit hard on the students at times, but he always did everything for the interest of everyone.
Scott Summers knew that the Professor had seen him as a son, just as he had seen him as a father. As emotionally conflicted as he was it did seem like Ororo was the better choice in the long run. And it was for that reason that he had returned with a clearer mind, although it wasn't perfect just as he wasn't.
The aviator ran his fingers through his hair and adjusted his duffle on his shoulder before he pushed open the large doors to admit himself to the Institute. The only time they were locked was at night, and it sure wasn't night. As a matter of fact, it was sometime around noon if the sun was anything to go by. Scott had lost his watch at some point and now merely went by what he wanted which went against his character in general.
Cyclops, as he was known, closed the door behind him and looked around the entrance wearily. Anyone was bound to jump him for returning. He didn't know what kind of telepaths they had around anymore, for all he knew someone sensed him when he pulled through the gates. Scott continued to be quiet, glancing around behind his ruby sunglasses for any bundle of sugar. There were so many; Jubilee, Kitty and Tabitha were just the leaders of the insanity. Even Rogue became apart of their whirlwind on occasion.
Who knows, maybe he could make it to his room without anyone knowing that he had arrived...Fat chance of that happening.
