Demigod
1st Year at Camp
Age:12
Daughter of Iris
Alliance: Resistance
Appearance:
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown and down to her waist. Often in a braid.
Height: 100 pounds
Build Type: slim, undeveloped, but with a bit more than regular muscle.
Brief Description:
She usually wears a pink shirt and black pants, although sometimes they might vary in color. The shirt is somewhat similar to a sailor's (except the color of course). It has huge slits in the back so her wings can fold out. Her shoes are normally white tennis shoes that are pretty much worn down so much that they look like their about to fall apart, but they are actually very sturdy. The only time she wears something different is on a special occasion: a pink and black striped dress, during which she has her hair down and in curls. During which she wears dress shoes or, depending on the weather, stockings and some sort of warm dress shoes.
Background:
Mortal Parent(s): Her dad named Kosa, or crossed
Other Family: None
Pets: A purple unicorn! XD Just kidding! she doesn't have a pet.
Brief History:
Sakura sighed. They were moving to America! But why? Business didn't seem like a good enough reason to leave all her friends. She sighed. Might as well. but did they really have to fly in a plane? Go there without having to fly? There was no water between here and America, right? Oh wait- her father didn't know, never mind. She put on a brave face and boarded the plane. It would be a long trip. When they arrived at the house, the movers were already there, unloading various things into the house. she looked up at the sky, catching sight of a single bird, all by it's self. That's how she felt; She felt very alone.
~~~
At school it was the same. She was still alone and she found out that most of the girls were clique-ish. It didn't matter; She didn't speak English anyhow. Her father had gotten her to go to English classes, but that seemed pretty hard. Nonetheless, after she started learning and using English, it stuck in her head like glue.
At school, another kid joined. His name was Jack. He and Sakura became friends and ignored all the other kids, since it was clique-ish for the whole grade, not just the girls, as Sakura thought. So now everything was perfect. Sakura had a friend, and a loving dad. But since nothing can last forever........
Her dad died. It's as simple as that. Her dad was driving to pick her up from school when a drunken idiot smashed right into him. It was over quick though, he didn't have to wait out his death. Sakura, on the other hand, was frantic. What would she do? What could she say? Nothing. Nothing at all.
Jack's family had grown to like Sakura, so they adopted her soon after. But Sakura noticed that something wasn't right with the family. Jack's dad, for example was gone, like her mother, but his mom seemed ok with it. And when Jack played the piano... it always sounded better than any other pianist alive, and dead. No joke. But Sakura dismissed it as her just being paranoid.
Sakura sped to school everyday, saying that she carpooled with some other kids, and that she couldn't take the bus. Jack's mom seemed pretty ok with it, but Jack was suspicious, for he knew that none of the girls would ever let her carpool with them.
He followed her one day to see what she actually did. He hid behind some bushes while she took off like a bullet. He was baffled. Someone like him?
He confronted her at school about the speed travel. She blushed a little and told him all about it, and Jack told his part of the story too. As it turns out, he was the son of Apollo. So that was why he was so good at music. And now that Sakura thought about it, he was always up at sunrise.
They returned home to find the house a mess. The couch was on it's side, papers were all over the ground, lamps and hard wood torn to pieces. And the worst part was the blood. Blood was everywhere. Jack's mom had been murdered. (by a human, but it was a random kill.)
They raced away, Jack tugging Sakura along. Sakura asked where they were going, and Jack replied that his mom said that if anything ever happened to her, that he should go to this camp. He knew where it was, too.
They were almost there when a raging river blocked their path. Sakura could run to where it was shallower and jump across, but what about Jack? Sakura couldn't hold him. He decided to swim through it. Sakura ran down, crossed and ran back and looked around. But where was Jack? It is unknown to this day...
Sakura frantically ran forward blindly. Not another death! How much heartbreak could she handle? She spotted a gate not too far in front of her. she ran through it, only to be confronted by a camp. "What?" She breathed.
Personality:
Sakura is a not a very smiley type of girl, although she is always wanting to cheer people up- that is, unless she is in a bad mood, doesn't care, or is just plain being lazy. She easily forgets things, especially names and will almost always give her friends nicknames. If you’re her fried, and you stop getting called your nickname, then something’s wrong.
She is very flexible and will practically do anything her comrades want to do, unless she thinks it's stupid or is being lazy again- but watch out! If you don't want to do what she wants to do repeatedly, and for a long time, she will probably get angry with you.
Sakura also doesn't like making decisions either. When facing a hard decision she can't immediately decide on, she will run away from it, (physically and/or mentally) or just push it onto someone else, if possible, but if her friends are making a decision, then she will be happy to help out. She does, however, have a strong will and an urge to protect her friends, or even a complete stranger, if she thinks they are worthy enough. She accepts people for who they are, not what they look like, but like any other person, if you’re just plain weird, she won't want to hang out with you.
Theme Song: Song of the Earth
Lyrics
Our mother calls out to us.
Singing a song of the Earth.
Her melodies will teach us.
Truths beyond this life.
Many will not hear her call.
Choosing to close their hearts.
Though truths be told in music
Silence close their eyes
And though my journey is long
And my sacrifies never seem to case, I can not stop singing.
The Earth has blessed me with song.
So I choose to sing, through my suffering
Only death can silence me.
The music must be sung.
. . .
The burden of honesty's ours.
We burried alone in our hearts.
We've heard the truth in music.
Try to tell them all.
Many still choose not to hear.
Even with questions made clear.
Their comfort lies in silence
And our songs, they fear
And though our journey is long
And our sacrifices never seem to cease, we can not stop signing.
The Earth has blessed us with song.
So we choose to sing, through our suffering, we'll be heard through harmony.
The music must be sung!
Even alone I must sing, The Song of the Earth.
Sakura suddenly ran into the class. She was probably two or three years younger than anyone there, although she didn't care. However, since she had not looked carefully where she was going, she tripped and fell. Nice going, Sakura She thought to herself Make the first impression that your a clumsy twelve year old. She got up and swiped her hands over her pants, cleaning them off a bit. She looked around the classroom, unsure what to do now that she was there. She stuck her left hand in her pocket, grabbing the note she had. But she didn't take it out right away. She watched the cussing teacher with a lame look of surprise. She thought he was very different than she had expected a teacher to be. Yes, she had thought they were strict, but cussing and insulting students? There must be some mistake.
Sakura heard him order one of the other students to do a headstand. A headstand? she thought with interest, Man, this guy really is a lunatic. She clenched the note harder in her pocket. If he ordered her to do some handstands, she was use it has her defense. Then he wouldn't make her do handstands or something else, right? She wouldn't know for sure.
"Hello?" She said softly, trying not to upset the teacher as much as possible. First impressions only come once, after all. She looked at her feet, a little shy, or at least an act of being shy. Of all the people she had met, being shy was a good approach to get someone to pity you or something.
