Age: 16
Son/Daughter of Akhlys
Appearance:
Eye(s): brown
Hair: black in most lights, looks brownish-red when the light hits it right
Height: five foot two
Build Type: petite
reference pic
PB is Min Hyo Rin
Brief Description:
Finna is a short girl—not as short as she could be, though. She’s small, and not very strong, but she makes up for it by being fast. She usually keeps her hair pulled back from her face and generally wears very little makeup--mostly because she's too lazy to put any on. She has two regular piercings in each ear, and has been idly considering getting a tattoo.
Background:
Mortal Parent(s): Jonathan Soo
Other Family: Kimmy Soo (little sister)
Pets: one fat gray cat named Hobbes
Brief History:
Personality:
Finna is a friendly girl. She’s always ready to help out those in need, and is excellent at giving comfort to people when the worst that can happen goes and happens. Finna bottles up her negative emotions inside because she doesn’t want people to think she needs comforting—in her own way, she’s very proud, not accepted help from anyone with anything. Finna also has an eye for photography, and her camera—a second-hand digital camera bought off of eBay, but a birthday present from her dad—is nearly always out and clicking away.
Likes:
- her friends
- being high-up
- Emilie Autumn
- color green
- dancing
Dislikes:
- homophobes/bigots
- small spaces—she’s an incurable claustrophobe
- the cold/rain/inclement weather
- being stereotyped/ignored because of her mother
- how minor gods are always treated as inferior
Skills:
- bow and arrow/darts/any weapon requiring throwing
- good at climbing
- fast
- good with poisons/can tell poisonous plants apart
- good at sneaking around
Weaknesses:
- claustrophobe
- bottles up emotions
- just can’t do close combat
- can’t lie convincingly about anything other than her emotions
- can’t sit still/gets bored easily
Passions:
- photography—she loves taking pictures of other people
- Emilie Autumn’s music—she can’t get enough of the stuff
- poisons. Any kind of poison—you name it, she knows it or wants to know it.
Fears:
- that she’ll never find someone to be happy with
- that something might happen to her family
Hobbies:
- trying to crochet (operative word being “trying” xD)
- reading (mostly science fiction or chick lit, fantasy hits too close to home)
Fighting Specialty: projectile weapons, particularly darts.
Describe the extent of your powers/abilities: Finna’s abilities aren’t really that flashy: her tears are infused with hemlock (no, don’t ask how that works, but she needs to eat it to refuel), she’s immune to all poisons, and she can tell when someone is dead—she has to be touching them, though.
Fatal Flaw:
Bottles it all up inside if it’s bad and absolutely refuses to be helped with anything.
Please give a brief background on your minor god**Minor Gods Only**:
Akhlys is the youngest daughter of Nyx. She is the spirit of the mist that clouds the eyes of the dying and is probably numbered among the Keres. She is also a goddess of poisons.

"And you'll be there for the meet?" Vasilissa Morevna's voice crackled and popped out of Maria’s cell phone; the reception where she was was utterly terrible.
“Yes, Mama,” said Maria, smiling. “When I have ever missed a meet?”
“Well, there was that time when you were still a college sophomore—”
“Mama, that was because I got mugged. I’ll be there, okay? Love ya.” ("Mugged" was family shorthand for being attacked by a sperm whale, mainly because it was almost identical to the human version. Although human muggers didn't generally try to eat their prey.)
“I love you too. Be there.”
“Yes, Mama.” Maria flipped her phone shut and put it back in the pocket of her jacket. It was a nice day for a walk, she had a decent amount of cash that wasn’t actually going to go towards the rent or paying off her student loans or buying groceries, it wasn't too cold out here, and her shift didn’t start for another three hours.
Oh, yeah. Life was good.
She walked down the street, a spring in her step, when she heard this: “…don’t play with pretend doggies…”
Oh, dear. Maria looked in the direction the words had come from. A tall, dark-haired man with a dog. Another man with reddish hair and a curiously childlike expression. O-kaaaay. Pretend doggies? This couldn’t be good…
The dog seemed to really like the red-haired guy. In the same way squids—well, only giant squids—seemed to really like Maria and her family. Shapeshifter? Well, probably. Could be he just had a doggie treat on him or something.
But even so, Maria directed her steps towards the two guys and the dog. It would be nice to know people besides her own family who she could commiserate with about the annoyances of the mass-changes inherent in shapeshifting.
“Hey,” said Maria, smiling widely. “What’s up?”
