Valdis, DawnDemigod#3 Year at CampAge: 18 Son/Daughter of Atropos
Appearance:
Eye(s): Gray Hair: Black Height: 5'7" Build Type: Toned with Slight Muscle Mass; a bit on the curvaceous side
Background:
Mortal Parent(s): Tybalt Valdis [Father] Other Family: Matthew "Dusk" Valdis [Adopted Brother] Pets: Hawk, Gawain Brief History: Dawn was born from a father who belonged to the upper class, in Berlin, Germany.
Her story begins with Tybalt Valdis, an only child who started off as a spoiled boy, his parents having given him everything and anything he wanted, providing to his every need. As he grew up, his personality altered halfway. He was very handsome but was more kind as well, and yet still believing wealth to be a great part of daily life. As he grew up, he practiced and excelled in sports combat, claiming tournament titles and the like. So although, spoiled, he wasn't as helpless as other such people who had everything handed to them on a silver platter.
He never had to work, since his parents had so much money, working for the German government. Even so, he demanded utmost respect from everyone around him. He was always able to catch the eyes of any lady including a beautiful, strong young woman who went by the name of Audrey, whom he had met at one of his sports combat tournaments. During the final round, Audrey reined victorious, and Tybalt, although usually livid at any defeat, decided to pursue this fighter. Audrey grew to admire the headstrong woman and in turn Tybalt grew smitten with her aloof but warm personality. The two began courting for some time, until Audrey discovered she was pregnant. When Tybalt's parents found out, they were thrilled to finally have a grandchild along the way. Audrey was aware of what was to become of the unborn child, and explained who she was, that she was the Greek Deity of Fate and oldest of the Moirae, Atropos, and what Tybalt would need to do in the future. Needless to say, he refused to believe any of it at first, but with a proper demonstration, he had no choice but to believe the goddess’s words as the truth. The moment she was born, Atropos claimed her daughter at Tybalt's behest [so that she would not remember].
Atropos left to return to Mt. Olympus, right after their daughter, Dawn Valdis was born, leaving Tybalt to care for their daughter himself. He had difficulty taking care of Dawn, even with his parent's help, and so instead, hired a number of nannies to care for the child, as he continued to selfishly pursue a career of his own and a name for himself. Tybalt spent little time with Dawn as she continued to grow up and when she did have a chance to, it was only for several hours. Dawn was cared for and taught many things by her father’s butlers and maids, and so shared no strong bond with her father.
She was an awkward girl who was picked on a lot and soon began to notice that she had a hard time focusing in school and reading regular words. Dawn also tended to focus more on sports rather than on her academics, and occasionally getting into fights with bullies, though she was still a very intelligent girl, even earning her own living quarters and staff to serve her at age 14. Many times she had been attacked by strange creatures that she had only heard about in books. She had thought these were hallucinations, even as she fought back, and her eyes perceived everything before her, but a deadly skirmish with a pack of hellhounds that almost cost her, her life proved that this wasn't just some trick of her mind. Her father, anxious about all the trouble his daughter has gotten into, put her on medications in some feeble attempt to hide the truth.
Up until this point, she had done everything her father wished, like an obedient little puppy. Eventually, when Dawn reached the age of 15, she couldn’t take it anymore and demanded that her father tell her everything. She blamed her father for how she had to grow up fast because he was never around to help nurture her and how these strange attempts at her life were driving her over the edge. Dawn had grown bitter and suspicious of her father for she knew he was hiding things from her, even at a young age; she just had never decided to voice her concerns. Tybalt gave in and decided to tell his daughter everything, also mentioning why he was never married and that he was still very much in love with Dawn's real mother; Atropos, the Eldest Fate.
After he had explained that she would need to head over to a demigod camp, Camp Half Blood, built to train young Demigods like her, Dawn packed up her things and immediately set out to leave, partly due to her resentment of her father for telling her the truth so late. She also had some doubts about her father's story. That was, until she crossed paths with a sphinx, who attacked Dawn. She managed to fend off the monster but was unable to defeat it. On the verge of being killed by the formidable creature, a golden hawk descended from the heavens and distracted the creature, allowing Dawn to destroy the sphinx, with the silver dagger strapped to its leg, a gift from the Eldest Fate to her daughter. Although an entirely different species, Dawn could understand the hawk as clearly as if it spoke English. The bird's name was Gawain, and he was sent by Dawn's mother, Atropos, to escort and look after the young Demigod.
Now at 18, Dawn is a seasoned camper at CHB, and one of the more diligent ones. She excels in all she tries her hand at, and has come to realize that she understands ancient Greek. Dawn had grown into a strong, both physically and mentally, person. She is a year-rounder at CHB, though she occasionally returns back to Germany to visit her family, particularly her father and half-brother, both of whom have accepted Dawn for who she is, as well as to earn her living and do business with International and German associates and officers.
Personality:
Standoffish/Nonchalant: Everyone's first impression of Dawn is a silent girl with few words to say. Sometimes she likes to humor people and reinforce those thoughts. However, most of the time, she just allows people to think whatever they wish. She isn't one to go out of her way to correct any minor misconceptions people make about her.
Approachable: She's a nice enough girl once people get to know her. Despite her somewhat aloof demeanor and lack of social people skills, she is good company to have around. She's intelligent and will crack a joke every now and then. She never discriminates and so people find that to be a plus when trying to befriend her.
Honest: Dawn will not mince words for you as she never sugar-coats her words for anyone. Whatever she is thinking about someone, she will tell them. She looks down on liars and frowns on people who attempt to benefit themselves through such means. She greatly values honesty and finds it to be an endearing quality to people who possess it.
Resourceful: In any given situation, she will make the most use out of whatever is in her surroundings. Always quick to think on her feet, Dawn can handle herself in many a situation, tending to make use of what others might overlook or discard as well as other available resources. She has even been known as having a silver tongue, using her intelligence and wit to carefully manipulate others to do as she wants. She has even branched off from her mother's work and established a name for herself because of this.
Trustworthy: Anyone who respects and puts their faith in Dawn without question, are most likely to gain the same courtesy from her. Although she expertly hides her emotions behind a mask and her demeanor is one that commands respect, there is a sincerity and honesty about her that allows her gain the trust of her peers.
Humble: Dawn is skilled in many areas, but never shows off in any flashy manner. For example, she is an exceptional fighter but does not flaunt her skills or abilities to make others feel any less inferior. She knows that people need to go at their own pace and finds it tasteless and just plain rude.

Oh, who can see in the eyes of fate? All life alone in its chronic patterns. Oh, swan, let me fly you To the land of no winds blowing. I know nothing, and know that I know nothing; All is in the eye, and in its blinks of seeing.
So just like the morning The ghost of the following day. Listen: Ori, ori, ori, ori..... Rear the rollers wild and stormy Echoes wholly only lonely long beforey, ory ory.
All rivalry and opinion still cast their wild spells. Effort and contrariness change the directions of time. The lion still growls in your hollowness. Please let's be easy, please let's be friends. Watching and learning like small children. Till out of the morning is growing the strength of the day.
Listen: Ori, ori, ori, ori..... Rear the rollers wild and stormy Echoes wholly only lonely long beforey, ory, ory.
Servant of fame or fame for a servant, You see what you see, you see seldom what is. Servant of fate or fate for a servant, You see what you see, you see seldom what is.
Servant of fate, ohhhhhh.

Please provide some background information on your minor god/goddess:
In Greek mythology, Atropos was one of the three Moirae, the Fates, the female deities who supervised fate rather than determine it. Atropos was the fate who cut the thread or web of life. She was known as the "inflexible" or "inevitable" and cut this thread with the "abhorred shears." She worked along with Clotho, who spun the thread, and Lachesis, who measured the length. They were the daughters of Zeus and Themis (the goddess of order.) It is not clear whether the fates were superior to Zeus or if he was subject to them as mortals were. The Roman name of the fates are Nona, Decuma, and Morta.
